Ted stands for Technology Entertainment Design, and collected when he was born in an annual conference "ideas worthy of widespread" at the time that best represented the world of technology , entertainment and design. This event, created by Richard Saul Wurman and Harry Marks in 1984, had as its aim the meeting of minds and ideas of the most amazing and innovative global vision. Conceived as a series of lessons, Ted held since then in Monterey, California every year to discuss the future of technological innovation and human. In 2001, the direction of the TED is passed to Chris Anderson and the Sapling Foundation, becoming a meeting which now includes among the topics to be addressed including environmentalism, the arts and projects to improve human life.
